Have you heard about the government backed scheme?
You can save money eating out at participating restaurants and cafes in August.
Eat out to help out is a new government initiative to help stimulate the economy as the lock-down in the UK is easing. This means that you get food and non-alcoholic drinks at 50% off up to a maximum of £10 off. Simply dine at a participating restaurant or cafe on any Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday in August this year to qualify.

So guess what that means for me?! Well I certainly like to save money eating out! So I intend to take advantage and I'm going to double up my efforts to walk the Leicestershire Round in a series of pub walks. I'll be walking most Mondays and some Tuesdays or Wednesdays depending on my other commitments. So, all I need now is a list of pubs that are close to 'The Round' and that are in the scheme. Then a little bit of re-thinking and planning and maybe I can catch up on the lost time due to lock-down.
Do you want to save money eating out too? Come along to one of my walks - and if you're not really into walking, just meet me for meal afterwards. It's such a good deal it would be a shame not to make the most of it.
Better still - why not join the Dad Goes Walkabout Community so that you get updates on new walks as I release them. Membership is free and you'll also get access to detailed information about routes for walkers, cyclists and runners as I publish them.
