THE BRICKLAYERS, SHARNFORD
Today I completed the second day of my series of circular pub walks which, when added together will complete The Leicestershire Round. Today’s pub walk started and finished at the Bricklayers in Sharnford
The Bricklayers is on ‘The Round’ and was our ‘coffee stop’ on the first walk. It’s a lively pub with an excellent reputation for food. Consequently booking is essential so if you’re thinking of doing a similar walk at some point, you’ll need to book at least a few days in advance.
I set off from the Bricklayers at around 9.30am. The total walk wa an estimated 12 miles with a refreshment stop in Burbage Common at about mid-day. I got back at the Bricklayers at around 3pm and joined my fellow walkers with some remarkable pub grub and an England rugby match to boot.
The route took me through Aston Flamville, Burbage Common and Barwell. At Barwell, I left the The Round’ and headed head back across fields near Elmesthorpe and Stoney Stanton; We were back at Sharnford around 3.15pm.
The route shows the stretch of the Leicestershire Round in Blue while the rest of the walk is marked in Green.
Why Not Join Me
All of my walks are open to anyone to join me for any part or the whole gig. Just message me beforehand to let me know you’re coming in case my plans change at all. Even if you don’t fancy walking you can join me at one of the stops to enjoy a drink, snack, meal or all three! 🙂
Check out my upcoming walks to find details of other walks I’m planning soon.
