SUNDAY 17TH MAY 2020 – HERCULES REVIVED, SUTTON CHENEY
The ‘lockdown’ forced a delay to this walk originally planned for the end of March. So now May 17th was my 4th day of walking the Leicestershire Round in a series of circular pub walks which, when added together will complete the whole circuit. This walk started and finished at the Hercules Revived pub in Sutton Cheney. This restaurant boasts a high standard of food and service and with a price to match, I was hoping for a very enjoyable dining experience – perhaps a little better than the average pub meal; and with a 13 mile walk beforehand – I would have been ready for it. Sadly, covid restrictions mean that the pub was closed. It looks like I’ll have to wait a while – still it’s gonna be fun catching up on all the missed bar meals once everything settles down.
I set off at around 10.30am. The total walk was just over 13 miles and covers about 5 1/2 miles of the Leicestershire Round. As the cafe was open for ‘outdoor eating’ I stopped for refreshments at Shackerstone – a little under half the total distance. I arrived back at the Sutton Cheney about 16.45pm.
Why Not Join Me
All of my walks are open to anyone to join me for any part or the whole gig. Just message me beforehand to let me know you’re coming in case my plans change at all. Even if you don’t fancy walking you can join me at one of the stops to enjoy a drink, snack, meal or all three! 🙂
Check out my upcoming walks to find details of other walks I’m planning soon.
